DealFun.com – Stole money from me for nothing

I signed up for this bidding site and was just going to check it out and see if there was any good deal on dealfun.com. Well without me agreeing to anything, they just charged my checking account. I never agreed to any charge or saw any price for that matter. I tried to get a refund, but they just tried to give me some more bids. This is such a scam. After looking around, I am sure that you would not be able to get any deals anyways.

The site… no – the style of this and other penny-auction sites is, well, dubious. However, it *is* true that you can find really good deals there and save a lot of money. The problem is with their signup process. It is required of you to leave your credit card number AND pick the, what they call, a BIDDING PACK. You see, the bids are not free as they are on the e-bay. They charge for each bid and the fee may vary based on the volume and price of the item(s) you want to buy. Enter BIDDING PACK, which cost between $69 and $119 (these days, Sep 2011) and you MUST buy one in order to complete your sign-up. And *that’s* the reason why they took money from your accounts. At least for that – they’re not scammers. The rest – I really don’t know. For example, do you really end up paying for the item what your winning bid was or are there any hidden charges, such as unreasonably high S&H, or “processing fee” or… crap like that. I would assume that we would all hear about big scam if they operated in that way – but I really don’t know who they are.
    Just my 2 cents.
