xdating.com – openly says they will attempt to con you out of your money

xdating in Section I. 6. on page 18(!!!) of it’s 22(!!!) page TOS openly says they will attempt to con you out of your money, supposedly for your entertainment despite the fact that the only reason members are there are not for entertainment but to meet someone real.

“6. In order to enhance your amusement experience, to stimulate you and others to use our Services more extensively, and to generally sprinkle some sparkle and excitement into the Services of XDATING.COM, we may post fictitious profiles, generate or respond to communications by means of automated programs or scripts that simulate or attempt to simulate your intercommunication with another real human being (though none really exists and any dialog is generated by programming), and we may employ or contract for the paid services of real persons who may interact with you as part of their compensated employment. While these communications may seem genuine, authentic, and personal, they may be broadcast simultaneously to a large number of persons and possess none of these qualities. While their contents may appear to be true, they may be quite false; while their contents may appear to sincere, they may be quite disingenuous.”

That’s pretty clear – you have to wade through 17 pages before you find it (if your eyes haven’t glazed over by then!)

Further, in Section D. 4 and 6 on page 7 they state they can virtually do whatever they want with the information and photos you provide them forever and there is next to nothing you can do about it.”4. You agree that you have a severely diminished and attenuated expectation of privacy with respect to any information, files, or data you provide or upload to XDATING.COM or which is collected by it in association with your identity. In fact, you grant us extensive rights concerning them to use them all commercially.””6. With the exception of personal financial and billing information, you hereby grant to us a perpetual, unlimited,” … “license to run,” … “arrange, modify, sub-license,” … “lend, rent, lease, assign,” “make available to any person or otherwise use, any information or other Content you provide” … “for any purpose whatsoever.” “We shall have no obligation of confidentiality to you regarding any such Content unless specifically agreed by us in writing or required by law. We shall never be obliged to delete any information from the web site. These foregoing provisions shall survive termination of this Agreement for any reason.”

The TOS then goes on to fully indemnify them against any actions you may want to take against them. So in addition to them openly trying to rip you off, your photos could be used in the most demeaning or embarrassing of fictitious or copied profiles on any dodgy dating site and you wouldn’t know (hopefully the people you know wouldn’t at least) or be able to do anything about it if you did.

Not the most ethical of sites.
Good example of why you should read the TOS.
They have not been upfront in regards to their operational practices.
That should be stated prior to the sign up page not buried on page 18 of the TOS.

My wife learned through a friend that this site using a photo and profile of hers that she had posted on a totally unrelated dating web site, prior to our meeting… So it appears that this site is data mining other dating web sites, and stealing the photos and profiles to post on their own site as fake ads. I think that would clearly cross the line of their TOS… my wife never authorized them to use her likeness, and never subscribed to their site.

Ya xdating is a scam, I opened a free account on several of these adult sex sites, the same pictures are on several sites, I’m a musician and I seen a picture of a girl with a guitar that I know the pic is from a guitar add from several years ago, shes a model that probally doesn’t even know her pic is being used this way…The only site I seen that has real girls is adultfriendfinder.com and 99% of the girls on there are not desireable at all.
if you have no pic posted and you get a message from a hottie and think you’ve won the lottery, think again, once you join that girl will dissapear faster than you can say bill my credit card!!!
